Pearlshell. The sun that has an eye.
The creature stands naked not as a nude form, but as a body without defense before its own light. A star on its forehead unfolds with sharp points upwards, like a thought that finds no bounds. Before its belly, it holds an open shell, and within it, a pearl, small and almost unattainable, as if something the creature carries not within itself, but before itself.
Instead of arms, wings unfurl. One of them gives birth to a hand with bright red nails; the other reaches towards the sun, which rests above the body and watches with its own eye. From this same wing sprouts a translucent red face – another visage, so light as if it exists only as long as it is looked upon.
This work is about inner light, which is never silent. It looks back, grows through the body, and leaves a pearl where emptiness should have been.
