Hornbloomed. With an Eye at the Waist.

She turns her head slightly, as if examining her own body.

Soft horns above her forehead, next to them a spathiphyllum-ear hanging

over her face and touching it, like a gesture of care. Its stem grows where a shoulder should be, heavy and layered, with leaves and a heart inside.

At her waist, two arms bloom from one spot, and between them a bright blue eye – calm, open, like a center of balance.

In her belly – a cavity of flowers, like an inner garden.

On her back – a clipped wing, learning to grow again.

A star-tail transitions into a leg in a bright laced

boot – a support for all this fragile body.

A portrait of a creature that holds itself on flowers, looks through its own waist, and gently gathers itself from sprouts.
